Brent Leavitt for Assembly District 7
Why I'm running for office.
These past few years have been extremely trying for my family and even more trying for many others. Traditional wisdom and understanding has failed us and proven to be shortsighted. We as a people look for something greater than ourselves to either dig us out of misery or blame others for our misfortunes. I believe that in the political realm we have done a good job of the latter. As a God-fearing person I tend to think there is hope. I also know that hope isn't everything and that there must be action taken, otherwise we have nothing to hope for. I am running for office to bring hope to my community through education, open mindedness, and a willing to serve.
Knowledge is Power
Every nation that has fallen to revolution has come from the heads of the state ruling with knowledge that they keep from their people. I believe that knowledge is power and that through educating people on matters, they make better decisions. I am grateful for the world we live in where knowledge is free and shared amongst everyone. I believe people should speak their minds and work together to eradicate bad information and have their voices heard.
I know that everyone thinks and acts differently and each person has their own role in life. This concept of being open-minded goes back to education and being willing to learn those things that I have yet to learn and being open to the fact that my past knowledge may be incorrect.
For the People
A great politician serves the people. They are a voice for their community and should listen and be there for them. I want to be an advocate for people. We need to focus on jobs and creating avenues for people to implement their creativity and show their talents. By encouraging business growth and working within our budgets, we will prosper and succeed.
I look forward to campaigning in district 7 and making my name known this election year. I look forward to people learning about their candidates and making the right decisions. Whether you are an R or D, vote for your values and vote for the person. Let's make Nevada great. Let's put Nevada back on Track.
